To Whom It May Concern,
I am the former owner of PC Advantage, a small retail computer sales and repair shop, formerly located at 1148 Robert St S, West St Paul, MN. I have worked in the computer industry for the past 34 years and I can honestly say that Brian Qually is one of the finest employees I have ever managed. Brian worked for me as a computer technician and salesperson from March of 1997 through March of 1998. I wish we could have worked together longer, but I decided to close my store after a series of unfortunate burglaries in West St. Paul.
As a small store operation, each employee was required to perform a wide variety of duties and Brian was able to easily transition between the many different responsibilities, acting not only as a technician, but also consulting with customers, filling out sales orders, handling phones, and monetary transactions. It is important to note that no customer is in a good mood when his or her computer is broken. Brian’s patience with customers is exceptional and he was able to diffuse even the surliest of clients.
Brian is an avid student of technology and adept at mastering new concepts. His ingenuity never ceased to amaze me. Brian often worked long hours with the rest of the staff developing ways to integrate old and new technology. One particular instance I recall is when we adapted some old 8 bit sound cards to work in newer machines by cross soldering some contacts with paperclips and editing the original DOS software code to work with MS Windows. He was also a whiz at registry editing. I admire Brian’s courage and tenacity. He has a positive attitude and is never afraid of a challenge, and won’t quit until he has reached his goal. I recall an instance where one of our computer customers was complaining about a broken car remote and how much the dealership would charge to replace it. Brian took a quick look at the remote and noticed a bad solder connection, which he then fixed with ease.
Brian was always a dedicated and trustworthy employee whom I regarded as my second in command. I often had to leave the store in his capable hands while I was away attending to other obligations. He is the type of employee who will go above and beyond the call of duty, and do it with gusto. I have every confidence that Brian is capable of great achievements and would not hesitate recommending him for any position on which he set his sights.
